Sprint PCS Vision gives you instant access to amazing things you will really use, every day. You'll enjoy advanced wireless services, like web access, email and text messaging that is easy to learn and use anytime. Sprint Mobile Email enables access to email from popular providers simply by entering username and password with no downloads required. Plus, with the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network you get the nationwide coverage and voice clarity you've come to expect from Sprint.

Sprint offers a variety of messaging options beyond text including Voice SMS, which allows you to record a voice message and send it to any mobile phone, email address, or landline phone just like a text message, and Text to Landline, which allows Sprint subscribers to send a text message to a landline phone where it is automatically converted to a voice message.

Preloaded with Sprint Navigation, this phone provides full-feature GPS navigation including voice and on screen turn-by-turn driving directions and more than 10 million business listings.

And with the optional Wireless Backup service from Sprint, you can automatically store your phonebook contacts on the Sprint network, allowing them to be instantly updated in the event your phone is lost, stolen, or replaced. It also allows you to manage your phonebook contacts through a Sprint web page.

Phone Features
The Rumor offers one touch access to messaging through a softkey from the idle screen and it automatically populates the messaging menu when the slider is opened. You'll enjoy easy access to Sprint Mobile eMail to check and send mail from multiple accounts through familiar providers including Yahoo! AOL, Gmail and Microsoft Live. It also provides quick access to instant messaging services including AIM, MSN and Yahoo! as well as several popular social networking communities, including Facebook and Xanga. To personalize the text messaging experience, the Rumor offers the ability to assign "text tones" to address book entries for audible identification of text message senders.

The Rumor's face has a 176 x 220-pixel LCD (262K colors), five-way navigation toggle, soft keys, and numeric keypad, and it smoothly slides open to the left to reveal the QWERTY keyboard (which automatically switches the screen to landscape mode). The internal phonebook has a 500 contact capacity, each with space for five phone numbers, email and Web addresses, and a memo. You can also assign a photo ID to a contact entry, as well as assign it to a group as well as to a specific ringtone.

What Customers Say About LG Rumor LG260 Phone, White (Sprint):

It fits nicely in the palm of my hand, it's light and the slide-out keyboard feels natural and solid, not flimsy as I had heard it could be. I programmed it to access all my email accounts, which it did slowly and with great effort. MEDIA (SOFTWARE): The software isn't too bad, but I find the lack of a call-duration record on the call log a bit frustrating. There's no flash so the photos are ridiculously blurry and dark, but as a photographer I don't usually take pictures with a cell phone anyway. After three months I started having problems with the phone freezing up, much like a PC with too little memory. Other times it simply shuts down forcing me to remove the battery and start over.

The charging slot at the bottom is a bit crooked - it takes some wiggling to get the charger plugged in, but it fits securely.PERFORMANCE: For three months I had almost no problems with this phone, with the exception of interminably slow internet access. Unfortunately I can't afford to send off my phone to be fixed as it is my only phone for both personal and business. At first I thought it WAS a memory problem, so I cleaned out every non-essential file on the phone - screen savers, picture mail, ringers, call tones - everything. The buttons on the front and on the slide-out keyboard require a firm touch, which is good for avoiding the dreaded 'butt dial' when it's not locked. It will simply stop responding, the screen will go dark, and if I'm very lucky it will eventually 'catch up' after a minute or two of waiting.

The graphics are not stellar - nothing like my old i860 or even the KRAZR - but I don't play games or record video so it doesn't matter to me. I knew it had some issues, so I made sure to purchase the $7/mo insurance plan, too.LOOK & FEEL: I loved the look and feel of the phone when I got it. The camera is junk, as I expected after reading other reviews. I didn't love the price (and there's no way Sprint was cutting me a break, no matter how loyal a customer I've been) but I was willing to pay for a cute little phone with a QWERTY keyboard. I've contacted Sprint about this issue, but they pretend it's news to them and tell me to take it to the repair store or contact the insurance company. I made and received calls, texted constantly and used the Sprint Navigation feature. I also discovered the phone signs on to the internet at random times, like when I'm dialing a number or accessing text messaging, which could be a real problem for anyone without unlimited internet access. Then it started freezing during dialing or when I tried to answer a call.

Review of LG Rumor, 2/9/2009 I wanted to love this phone but.there's no way I could love something that causes me so much daily frustration.VALUE: I bought this phone to replace a defective KRAZR and because I'm a textaholic (as are most of my friends). Shame on me for putting so much in Sprint's incapable hands.PHONE FEATURES: I love the slide-out keyboard, but the buttons on the keyboard were a little tough to master as they're very small and I have long fingernails. The paint is also almost completely worn off some of the buttons making it hard to see them in daylight. Frankly, I've seen better results from disposable kid's cameras. I tried running the battery all the way down and charging it back up, which again, helped for a few days but after that the problem steadily got worse. I do like the Sprint Navigation feature - it's almost as good as my Tom-Tom (which admittedly isn't saying much). I bought the white/silver one which got dirty pretty quickly, so I bought a grey-market cover for it. All in all, the software isn't anything special and could use some improvements, like the ability to sort texts by sender or a longer character limit for both texting (160 characters) and the memo field of contact entries.Overall, I find I must resist the temptation to hurl this phone across the room, out the car window or into the lake on almost a daily basis.

It got a little better for a few days, only freezing during texting once every day or so. Now, after seven months of ownership, my LG Rumor freezes with nearly every single action I try to perform, from making calls to typing texts to accessing the menus. It tells you when the call began but not how long it lasted - you have to remember to check after you hang up and before you clear the screen. It's a great concept and a cute, stylish accessory but a very poor communicator, which makes it little more than a $280 space-waster in the bottom of my purse.

So read this review if you are debating between the LG Rumor and Samsung Rant. it will stop the songWhy I Like the Samsung Rant Better.* have to fully open slider to release keyguard* much better screen resolution* can make folders and playlists with music player* louder ring and speaker* feels sturdier, slider is smoother* qwerty keyboard has rubberized keys, which is a little less slippery* awesome scroll-style menu on main screen that's fully customizable (called One Click)* depending on how you arrange One Click, it can be as little as 2 clicks to text messaging with no scrolling though menus* easier, cleaner interface (in general, i like Samsung interfaces best)* AWESOME camera quality for a cell phone* you can review your other music while listening to a song. I had this phone for a year and used it often - all features except anything internet related as I don't have that service. this can happen just by walking with it in your pocket. at least you don't have to remove the battery as on some phones* have to go through Sprint music store to access music player, which is slow and annoying. i wrote this review to highlight pros, cons and differences.not all available features are discussed.Personal Highlights.* great for texting* love candy bar phones - flips are annoying and feel too delicate to me* personalization options - screensaver, banner, menu colors, some fun ringtones* good call quality* automatic keyguard with one-button release* cute and fun design* full qwerty keyboard with easy to use functions* simple interface, user-friendly* music player with great sound quality* song pauses when a call comes in* don't have to go through sprint music store to access player, so getting to it is very fast* decent camera quality* supports up to 4GB mini SD card, and card slot is easily accessible on side of phonePersonal Dislikes* on a text-focused phone, it takes a minimum of 4 button clicks to send a text message if you have the numerical sequence memorized (that is, you know that the number 6 button is for text message and don't have to scroll). no folders or playlists* low screen resolution* ringer and speaker volume not very high, even on loudest settings* menu colors are fun, but there are only 4 options: black, pink, blue and tropical (which is pink, yellow and orange)* can't view rest of music selection while a song is playing.

song pauses when a call comes in* overall, it just seems like a refined, polished version of the Rumor* i don't subscribe to GPS service, but it's an option with this phoneIf you're comparing, there are downsides to Rant.* qwerty keyboard keys are a little smaller and flatter so it's a little more difficult to type* you can't change the menu colors - stuck with black and yellow (though I like how it looks)* requires two-button sequence to release keyguard* can't dedicate a singal button to access the calculator, so have to use main menu, or One Click. But I beat mine up and got a Samsung Rant 2 weeks ago. in fact, you can do anything while listening to a song, except make a call. realistically it can take up 10 clicks if you have to scroll for options or the recipient just to send a message* there's a dedicated messaging button, but the first option is voicemail, then a bunch of others, and finally the 6th option is text messaging* auto keyguard is great, but if you BARELY nudge the slider, the keyguard is released. wasted battery life and minutes with "butt calls"* music player is shuffler only. a little annoying if you use your calculator as regularly as i do* have to remove back cover to access mini SD card. but once you get there it's a much better set up than on Rumor.I would recommend the Samsung Rant over the LG Rumor, but both phones are a great option if you like candy bar phones, text messaging, qwerty keyboard, music, and simple interface.

Most everyone is going after the iPhone or Blackberries which are too expensive/and aren't worth it from what I hear. The main downfall with this phone I've had for almost 2 months now is that the camera works on and off. If you get this phone I promise you won't regret it.

for cheap (you only pay for the minutes you use on the internet downloading the songs/wallpapers, whatever), after a a few seconds of inactivity, it locks so you don't waste the battery as much (just unlock/lock it by pressing and holding the back button for about 2 seconds), you can surf on the internet (it's free/or isn't free depending on the plan you get), tons of settings and tools to fool around with and much more. This is the first phone that was an mp3 player, a camera and a camcorder all in one (for me) so I'm enjoying taking pictures and listening to music very much. There is only one super-small issue that shouldn't be a big deal and might happen with other phones too - when someone texts you, and you don't reply but you DO see the message that was sent, the phone acts like you never saw the message and counts it as a missed message.Very minor like I've said but I just thought I'd mention it. Texting keyboard, nice colors (I have a royal blue), it's a camera, it's a camcorder, it's an mp3 player, it has video options, you can get ringtones from [.].

My first phone was a Virgin Oystr and you couldn't go to myxer.com because it wasn't compatible. The pictures that it takes are pretty good as long as there is good lighting.4 stars.end note: Get the LG Rumor.

It's a great phone, and although I've only owned two cell phones in my lifetime I think that's saying something. Plus, it's a phone that not many people go for, I think.

Sometimes when you try to access it it works fine, and other times, the screen goes stationary and doesn't go to the camera at all so you must wait and then come back to it.

THE GOODThe LG Rumor has a lovely design, with a built-in hidden QWERTY keyboard for easy messaging. Features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, Bluetooth, and more. It provides easy access to Facebook, plus it supports Sprint Navigation.THE BADThe LG Rumor does not have EV-DO, and surfing the Web can be quite slow. The screen has poor resolution, and the camera has no flash.THE BOTTOM LINEThough the LG Rumor is not as fast as we'd like, it's still a great messaging multimedia device for those who don't need a lot of speed.http://www.LG-Rumor.com has more information.

If you don't usually text this phone is just like any other. I highly recomend it as a first or second phone for ages 12-25.

I've had it for a while and I've certinly put it to the test. Over all this phone is very nice.

It's usually just w/ the numbers but it sometimes w/ the qwerty keyboard. It's been dropped, thrown, and even submerged in water for about 2 seconds and it still works fine.

One thing that has occured because of the daily ware is a really annoying creaking noise when I type. The texting is awsome and there's no fuss of adding names and such to the T9w dictionary.

But in the end I give it a 5 star rating.
